Wine Country Destinations Off the Beaten Track

Sure Napa and Sonoma get all the press, but many our clients’ favorite limousine wine tours head to less well-trodden destinations for their sipping adventures than Napa or Sonoma proper (though still in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys for the most part). As we mentioned in a previous post, Livermore is one of the often overlooked wine country stomping grounds. (And by stomping grounds we aren’t just talking metaphorically, as many of the Livermore wineries actually have nights where you can channel your inner Lucille Ball. )

So what are some of our favorite off the beaten path, Yountville or Calistoga wineries? Well here are a few in places you may only dimly be aware of:

  • Loxton Vineyards: Okay, so this is just a stone’s throw outside of Sonoma itself, but still we’re counting it because of how often visitors don’t bother to take this trek just a little ways to the north. Glen Ellen is actually home to at least a half dozen wonderful wineries, but if you would like to try a wonderful Syrah, Loxton is the place to go. The owner of this winery is an Australian who comes from a line of vintners near Adelaide, where Syrah is known as Shiraz, and is the kind of wine aficionado that measures his life by grape harvests and loves to talk about acid counts from his handful of vineyards across Nor Cal.
  • Coppola Winery: For movie buffs who also love a good Merlot or vice versa what better combination could there be than sprawling vineyards and estates of one America’s great directors, Francis Ford Coppola. Of course, as you would expect from the director of The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, he likes a big production and this is true of his St. Helena wine tasting locale which is part luxury resort with swimming pool and cabins and part restaurant. (Just think, what better way to make a movie entrance than in your own luxury limousine?)
  • Vincent Arroyo: One of the most inviting Calistoga wineries, Vincent Arroyo is one of the best destinations for dinner. Known for their Merlot the winery hosts four amazing dinner events every year, so you should be sure to check out this amazing spot.

These are just three of the amazing destinations you can go to on your own, unique luxury limousine wine tour adventures. And limousine wine tours are definitely the best way to see Wine country, whether you are going to Yountville wineries or to Calistoga wineries.

Wine country, in fact, is not just a great placing to spend a day sipping and enjoying yourself. Many wineries throughout wine country also host musical events and many of the cities not only have wineries but also five start restaurants. For example, while you are visiting Glen Ellen wineries, you might also drop down for some martinis and oysters at the Glen Ellen Inn. And if you get tired of the Yountville wineries you are visiting, you can spend the night at a local bed and breakfast and then take in the Calistoga wineries the next day.

Your limousine wine tours are only limited by your imagination, so be sure to give us a call and make your dreams come true today.
